Interstate 27 in Texas, Exit 20 thru 50 in Hale County, TX.
This Driver reports: "This is a daily occurance. The Dot especially have set up traps there and take many trucks a day. When they cannot find an obvious infraction they look for insignificant ones. In my case I was instructed to change the weights on my trailers on 2 different traffic stops by this bunch. I drive an old dually, NOT A BIG HAUL TRUCK! It truly does not quailify as a DOT vehichle and this cause some problems. This is a REALLY BAD STRIP OF I-27. I am totally surprised there has not been more reports on this site. However it is more DOT than speed Bears. There is a weigh station set up on the north end of Abernathy Texas at HWY 54 designed for this purpose. YOu cannot tell me I-27 is so much worse than lets say I-20 or I-30 or even I-4 that it needs its own weigh station. The Hale county JP is very nice though and she does give discounts on tickets." Bears are creatures of habit.
